What is astrology?

Jyotiṣa is one of the Vedāṅga, the six auxiliary disciplines used to support Vedic rituals. Early jyotiṣa is concerned with the preparation of a calendar to determine dates for sacrificial rituals, with nothing written regarding planets. There are mentions of eclipse-causing “demons” in the Atharvaveda and Chāndogya Upanishad, the latter mentioning Rāhu (a shadow entity believed responsible for eclipses and meteors). the term graha, which is now taken to mean planet, originally meant demon. the Ṛigveda also mentions an eclipse-causing demon, Svarbhānu, however the specific term graha was not applied to Svarbhānu until the later Mahabharata and Ramayana.

In India, the Study of Astrology or Jyotish Shastra can be traced to the Vedic times. Glimpses of Astrology Traditions are visible in the ‘Atharva-Veda’, one among the most sacred texts of India. Ancient Indian Vedas Astrology in India, more popularly known as Jyotish, relies more on the Sidereal ( according to the Stars ) positions of the Planets, just as one sees them in the Sky, against the positions assigned to few relatively fixed Stars.

This Ancient system of Indian Vedic Astrology is thus scientific in Nature and employs many Complex Mathematical Calculations to arrive an astute Astrology Predictions and Prophecies.

According to Indian Vedic Astrology in India, or celestial bodies, be it the Sun, The Moon, The Planets or stars, influence the Terrestrial Phenomena, or indicate such Phenomena by their various Configurations. The Configurations of the Planets and Stars at the moment of Birth determines one’s basic Life Story Inclinations, Characteristics, strengths, Weaknesses. Horoscope, or the Natal Chart, is therefore the Construction of the Basic placement of Planets at the time of Birth. That is why it is termed as a Janam-Patri in Indian Vedic Astrology.

What is Tarot/ Tarot Card Reading?

Tarot card reading is the practice of using tarot cards to gain insight into the past, present or future by formulating a question, then drawing and interpreting cards.

 What Can Tarot Cards Do?

What I have discovered from reading the Tarot cards daily for over 8 years is this:

Tarot is the storybook of our life, the mirror to our soul, and the key to our inner wisdom.

Every spiritual experience we meet in our lives can be found in the seventy-eight Tarot cards. And when we consult the Tarot, we’ll get shown the exact lessons we need to learn and master to live an inspired life. It’s like holding up a mirror to yourself so that you can access your subconscious mind.  Tarot allows us to tap into the understanding and answers that live in us all.

The most prevailing way to read the Tarot is to use the cards to access your intuition and your inner wisdom. The imagery in the cards give you immediate access to your subconscious mind and your intuition. And from this place of inner power and wisdom, you can discover how to make positive changes now so you can manifest your goals and your dreams in the future.

What is reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

What is chakra healing?

Chakra Healing is one of the most powerful treatments at Fivelements. But what exactly does it do? It helps to restore the flow of life energy (prana) throughout the body, enhancing the feeling of overall wellbeing in sometimes more subtle, sometimes more powerful ways. Like a spring cleaning for your energy system, this treatment unblocks, re-activates and rebalances the chakras, paving the way for increased levels of health and consciousness.

‘Chakra’ is a Sanskrit word that means ‘wheel’ and refers to the many energy wheels we have throughout our body. Seven of these are major chakras, aligning along the spine from the base to the crown. Each one is made up of organs, nerves and a powerful connection to the less tangible psychological, emotional and spiritual states of being.

Keeping our chakras open and our energy flowing is fundamental to our wellbeing, physical as well as psychological, emotional and spiritual. When we fall ill, it is likely that one or more of our chakras is, or becomes, blocked, whether directly through physical trauma, or through more esoteric problems that then manifest physically.
